No direct answer to your question but install openemm on a different server or only database, enter there your password and copy that md5 hash to your current installation. Kind of a workaround I recently used with wordpress

you can set an apache in front of your openemm and redirect the requests depending on your needs to either the admin console or to any other site inside openemm. This can be done by mod_proxy. I don't think there's a way to add a new listener on port 8081 only for the admin console.

more than 2 years later and I also got hit by this error. Is there any downoad for 64bit linux machines available? Can someone please give me some advice in how to compile 'smctrl' and 'xmlback' to be able to run openemm on a x86_64 linux server? Simply running "make all" doesn't work ...

i have looked to see if the ip address was hard coded anywhere like hosts
and couldnt find it

i can telnet to all the ports so i dont think they are blocked
